A group of 30 high spirited, carers were treated to a visit to Buckingham Palace on Friday 17 September, courtesy of the Royal Collections Trust, where they enjoyed picnicking in the royal gardens.

Peter and his lovely wife Jo said, “We were so happy we were given an opportunity to go out on a trip. We looked forward to this trip, as we had never visited London or Buckingham Palace Gardens.”

Peter added “It’s just a really nice feeling to be here today, have a picnic and some alone time, we feel younger and certainly posh for the day. Thank you to Slough Carers Support for offering this trip to us, as we have not been out anywhere since this pandemic. We care for each other, as we both have long term health conditions and poor mobility, but the walk around the beautiful gardens added to a perfect day out for us! We were a little frightened but were put at ease by other carers in a similar situation and of same age who accompanied us on the trip.”

Next Royal Trip booking now! If you missed out on the chance to join us a Buckingham Palace, we have the opportunity for carers and the cared for (the venue is accessible for wheelchair users), to explore the corridors of Windsor Castle, on Monday 11 October, 2pm-5pm.
