NATIONAL CARERS WEEK 8TH – 16TH June 2019
The theme for Carers Week 2019 was “Getting Carers Connected” be this with local statutory and voluntary sector services; with local communities and neighbourhood facilities; with family and friends no matter how distant; with local NHS services; with “the digital world”; and most importantly with their own health & wellbeing needs. Above all else, Carers Week provided a national platform to recognise the unpaid work that carers do and to value their contribution to society and to the economy.
Across the week…
• Over 200 people attended events organised or promoted by Slough
Carers Support, (i.e. the events detailed in this report), of which at
least 143 were carers.
• 39 new carers were identified.
• 35 new carers discount cards were issued
