NATIONAL CARERS WEEK 11TH – 17TH June 2018
Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.
On Monday 11th June, Slough Carers Support launched Carers Week at the Masonic Centre in Slough, with an Unsung Heroes Celebration. The event was designed to thank the carers of Slough and was attended by over 100 carers and volunteers.
The week was full of activities for carers to enjoy including yoga and wellbeing sessions, arts workshops, social events and to conclude the week, a visit to the Royal Opera House to see Swan Lake with afternoon tea.
Slough Carers Support recognises that carers need to take time out to care for themselves and we hope that the range of activities on offer during Carers Week, will give carers a taste of what is available year-round.
